The REMOTE Senior Tax Accountant is responsible to perform tax preparation, review, research, and planning for our clients. You will play a crucial role by integrating tax-saving strategies with the ever-evolving needs of independent businesses we support. This role oversees a portfolio of high-end clients and helps them creates business transformations.

This is a remote position so you will have a high level of autonomy to crush your goals. We have very clear expectations so you will know where you stand at all times. Objectives

• Be able to prepare and/or review business (1120, 1120S, 1065, trust returns) and personal tax returns for small business clients from initial meeting through delivery and filing of returns
• Record entries into accounting & tax software (Drake & QuickBooks Online & QuickBooks Desktop)
• Preparation and/or review of financial statements as needed
• Analyze client tax savings and run tax planning meetings with clients on a regular basis
• Communicate with clients on a regular basis using email and virtual Zoom meetings
• Research and continue education in all areas of tax and technology used internally and externally
• Provide technical and social support to the team while developing each staff member to their full potential and efficiency, including providing in-service training on tax preparation and tax planning services.
• Support the on-boarding of new clients to ensure adequate support to the primary tax staff
• Co-lead staff meetings and training as needed
• Support other areas of the company as needed

Competencies

• 5+ years of tax preparation experience is a must
• 2+ years of tax review experience preferred
• Proven work experience as a Tax Accountant
• Knowledge of the tax code for individuals and small business
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• QuickBooks accounting software experience and Drake software experience are strongly preferred
• Computer literacy, numerical skills and attention to detail
• Must have excellent people skills, organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
